GTA 6 fans have found another tiny detail hidden in plain sight - and this one appears to point directly back to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
More than a year after Rockstar released the second GTA 6 trailer, players are still dissecting individual frames. The latest discovery comes from a brief moment around the 33-second mark, where Jason Duval is seen attacking a store clerk. In the background, fans noticed a wall decoration shaped like a lizard wearing a blue floral shirt. The detail sounds absurd at first, but the pattern strongly resembles the iconic shirt worn by Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of GTA: Vice City.
It is a small visual nod, not a confirmed story clue. Rockstar has not officially commented on the discovery, and there is no evidence that Tommy himself will appear in GTA 6. Still, the reference makes sense. The new game returns players to Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, so callbacks to the franchise’s earlier Miami-inspired chapter are almost inevitable.
The discovery also says a lot about Rockstar’s approach to world-building. Even a throwaway background object can become part of the conversation because fans know the studio often hides jokes, references and layered details in its environments.
For longtime players, this possible Tommy Vercetti reference is less about a major reveal and more about tone. GTA 6 looks ready to build its own identity with Jason and Lucia, but it clearly understands the weight of Vice City’s history. Whether this lizard was meant as a joke, a tribute or pure fan bait, it has done its job: people are looking closer than ever.
